Production Assistant: Slip Casting
Marcello Andres Ceramics is looking for a Production Assistant to join our studio. The Production Assistant is responsible for preparing liquid clay, preparing the space for production, and completing the production process. Additional responsibilities include studio maintenance, monitoring inventory levels for product and materials, and general organization. The role being filled as of August 2025 will focus on slip casting, i.e. pouring liquid clay into molds. The job is labor intensive and located in an open warehouse without air conditioning. Aside from specific duties, we generally keep a warm, welcoming vibe in the studio and are looking for a team member with the personality to match.
Studio
Marcello Andres Ceramics fires clay in a Quonset hut in the Cedars neighborhood in Dallas, Texas. Our ceramics studio creates both functional art—light fixtures and Michelin restaurant-worthy dinnerware—as well as collectible sculptural pieces. The functional work is rooted in cultivating conviviality inspired by the family-style dinners of Marcello's upbringing. His sculptural works are housed in the Marcello Andres Showroom, a permanent art installation designed to display ceramic works as well as envelop a curated soundscape.
