Marcello Andres Ceramics is a Dallas-based studio producing handmade ceramic tableware for leading restaurants, hotels, and design clients. We are seeking a versatile, high-energy Events Support & Retail Associate to enhance our client-facing retail experience.

This role is ideal for a "people person" who is as comfortable managing the logistics of a high-traffic studio sale as they are supporting a client through a bespoke retail consultation.

About the Role

The Events Support & Retail Associate works directly with our Creative Director and Events Coordinator to ensure our physical retail space and studio events run flawlessly. Your primary focus will be the planning and execution of our monthly studio sales and in-person events including dinners, pop-ups, and other activations. When not executing events, you will be the face of the studio, guiding customers through our collections, assisting with retail consultations, and ensuring the showroom reflects our brand's high standards.

This role requires a balance of physical stamina for event setup and the refined communication skills needed for luxury retail.

Responsibilities

  • Event Planning & Execution: Support the end-to-end logistics of monthly studio sales, including inventory prep, floor layout, and onsite coordination.
  • Retail Consultations: Assist customers in-studio, providing product knowledge and helping them select pieces for their homes or projects.
  • Showroom Management: Maintain a pristine and inviting retail environment; ensure shelves are stocked, labeled, and curated daily; maintain a clean space by following standard studio cleaning/tidying protocols.
  • Studio Sales: Act as a key team member during high-volume monthly sales, managing customer flow, vendors, checkout, and packaging.
  • Customer Experience: Respond to retail-related inquiries and provide a high level of hospitality to all studio visitors.
  • Logistics Support: Assist with the packing and fulfillment of retail orders and event-specific inventory movement.
  • Collaborative Execution: Work closely across production and marketing teams to brainstorm and implement improvements for the "in-person" studio experience.
  • Studio Support: If applicable, assist with production processes and tasks around the studio 

Qualifications

Required

  • 1–2 years experience in retail, hospitality, or event production.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to engage naturally with a diverse range of clients.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure during busy sales events.
  • A schedule that is conducive to the studio’s scheduled events.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods during events.

Preferred

  • A passion for ceramics, interior design, the arts, hospitality.
  • Experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems (Shopify & Square POS preferred).
  • Prior experience in high-end or boutique retail environments.
  • Experience with event setup, decor, or visual merchandising.
  • Willing to support during seasonal wood-firing efforts (preparing pieces, loading and unloading the kiln)
