Lapis Lazuli Shallow Bowl
Currently featured at Osteria Il Muro in Denton, TX, this Lapis Lazuli Shallow Bowl was selected to frame their seasonal pasta dishes and fresh, local ingredients. The Shallow Bowl is our most versatile piece, with a curved wall designed to scoop up every last bite.
The bowl is finished in our signature Lapis Lazuli glaze, inspired by the metamorphic rock lapis lazuli found in Chile (where Marcello’s family is from), Egypt, and a small number of countries around the world. Its use in art dates back to northeastern Afghanistan in 7000 BC, through the Renaissance, well into the 1800s and beyond. Today, we use synthetic blue pigments, including the ones used in the glaze for this bowl.
Dishwasher and microwave safe. All of our ceramics are handmade in Dallas, Texas at Marcello Andres’ quonset hut. Perfectly imperfect: Due to variations in glaze and finishes, products may differ from what’s pictured.
