Introducing our new offering: Kiln to Chef’s Table. This experience includes everything Kiln to Table does but with some additional special bites, and rather than sit in our showroom at our long table, you’ll be seated in our production studio where the chef will work their magic. See everything up close and behind the scenes. You’ll be front row and first.

It all goes back to fire. Primal, alive, transformative—fire turns earth into art and carne into culture. Wielding flames to manipulate food and clay both have ancient traditions. Our next Kiln to Table dinner chef shares a lifelong love of cooking with fire. Welcome, Anastacia Quiñones-Pittman of José.

A perennial name on the James Beard Award best chef list—and too many other awards and accolades to recount—José executive chef AQ will bring the heat to Marcello Andres Ceramics this November.

“Being outside with a cold beer and live fire is my happy place,” says AQ, a first-generation Mexican American and native Texan who refuses to “put Mexican cuisine in a box.”

She will, however, put Mexican cuisine on a table—ours, here in our ceramics studio and showroom. For bread service, expect Oak Cliff Bread with a trio of butters (salsa macha, hoja santa, chicarrón). A huitlacoche butter will accompany a fresh scallop. To embrace fall, a pozole de camaron will keep us warm. Below, find more details about the menu, all of which will be plated on Marcello Andres Ceramics.

Chef AQ will be joined by her hospitality kin, Victor Rojas and Carlos Marquez. Rojas, general manager of José, is a longtime industry professional who will bring his talent for warm service. Marquez, José beverage director, will pair the evening’s menu with a slate of tailored drinks.

Kiln to Table is all about creative collaboration, singular experiences, good tunes, and, most importantly, conviviality for all. We usually bring the ceramics to the chef, but now we’re bringing the chef—and dinner—to us. Our Kiln to Table dinner series invites professional chefs into our studio and showroom to cultivate a special dining experience. Please join us this month at our quonset hut in the Cedars.

Kiln to Table is a monthly dinner series that invites noteworthy professional chefs, both local and from abroad, into the ceramics studio to curate dinnerware and cultivate a dining experience in an adjoining showroom. Their food on Marcello Andres Ceramics, intentionally selected to tell a story to diners at a long communal table.

Kiln to Table is an extension of the studio's goal of connecting people with food and each other through artful ceramics and conviviality.
